what is

Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Neurological conditions are wide ranging and can involve any part of the nervous system including not only the brain, but also the spinal cord, peripheral nerves and muscles. An alteration in the function of any of these can result in a variety of neurological symptoms that can often be disturbing and in some cases, disabling.

A careful and systematic neurological assessment will help to identify the nature of the problem and guide us toward appropriate treatment options.

The use of imaging techniques such as CT or MRI scanning, and neurophysiological tests such as electroencephalography (EEG), electromyography (EMG) or Nerve Conduction Studies may be a necessary part of the diagnostic process in a range of clinical presentations.

Headache is a common problem and can be a debilitating condition for a number of people who experience it regularly. Speak with us to find out what we can do to help.

What Our Patients Have Said

"The care and attention I received both leading up to and in my consultation was exceptional. I was deeply grateful, at a moment of anxiety and vulnerability, to find Dr Chan's level of knowledge of the subject and attention to detail. He took significant pains to ensure I understood his diagnosis, and put my own fears to rest. I had real confidence in his understanding of what I had been experiencing, and therefore in his diagnosis and his treatment plan. I could not recommend him more highly."
